well, most of us girls either have, or would like to, visit a beauty salon, for a facial, manicure, wax ... the list goes on. However, today a survery suggested that 1 in 5 men have attended such salons for similar such treatments. And they even had the owner of a salon on the radio this morning talking about the fact that so many guys do go in for facials, waxings (not sure i wanna know), etc. so how many of you lovely masculine manly guys would go to a beauty salon? and if so what would you have done? Or do you consider it to be a bit too girly...

Hehe, nothing wrong with looking good. I've had my eye browse waxed and if it came to that a manicureor pedicure wouldn't be out of line.
I think being neat and looking as good as you can is very important to one's image and if it takes a little waxing (eehm we're not talking weird stuff here <grin> not unless that's something you really want to try) that is fine with me. :)

If anyone has e.g. seen the series "Queer Eye for the STraight Guy" you see that gay guys e.g. have just a lot of great things to say about how to look and dress etc hehe, being very straight, I assure everyone, I like that series and catch it when I can, I think looking good is not queer in any way I think it shows ambition. *grins* but how far will one go, hehe, well, I onlydo things that will simply make me look more professional, not weirdor feminine in any ways, I will not apply nail polish or lipstick, only did once as an unfortunate drunk accident with a few female friends, although fortunately no one took pictures and we still laugh at it today.
cheers

Theres a lot to be said for personal grooming but on the other hand,
I also wonder if it's an attempt to
de- masculise men and make them less of a threat to certain kinds of women,it stands to reason if you make men insecure about their appearance, you then undermine their self esteem ect...at times it seems to be a type of subtle revenge...

I wouldn't personally go to a place like that for anything. However, I don't think that having a manicure or anything like that makes you gay either.

I wouldn't go to such a place, not because I'm insecure with my masculinity, but because I think it's a waste of money. I'd go for a haircut, but that's all. But, to each there own.
